The museum, about a half hour’s drive west from Kansas City, Kansas (just over 20 miles) has a big library (Trowbridge Library), many collections, and a small but active community of volunteers and supporters

Wyandotte County Museum aims to identify, collect, interpret, preserve, disseminate historical material and artifacts information pertaining to the history of Wyandotte  County, to educate the public about its history and heritage, and enhance the appreciating and understanding of the heritage of Wyandotte County and surrounding areas.

The Wyandotte County Museum is home to a Native American dugout canoe, one of the few remaining ones in America and what’s also very interesting is an American LaFrance Steam Fire Engine dating back to 1903, a very rare find! The Museum features exhibits covering the interesting history of Wyandotte County history.
